Yes, I'm a Geek
At a certain stage, there's really no point trying to hide it. Though I won't bore anyone with the details of my geekery, suffice it to say that I have been known to play MERP from time to time.
And, yes, for said geekery, I have painted miniatures to represent movement in the game environment. I've been painting figures for about 25 years, though it has become a much rarer thing since my daughter was born. Plus, other hobbies have crowded out my gaming time. Still, there's nothing as relaxing as painting. Your canvas is so small that you're forced to forget about everything else and concentrate on the job at hand. I still find it a great stress reliever whenever I can steal away to my worktable to paint.
A Few Painting Samples
I've sold most of these miniatures on eBay, so they have long since passed from my collection. At one point, I had quite the little cottage industry going, buying huge lots of figures that I would paint and sell. I've kept a few, but the vast majority have gone to new homes around the world.
I occasionally still put figures up on eBay when I find the time to paint. If you're ever so inclined, visit my eBay listings here and you might see something you like.
