About Me
I've been writing for as long as I can remember. In fact, I think I began my first book (cough... can you call it that?) when I was about seven. I had just read the first three books of the Dune series, and my story was a complete rip-off. Lots of people running around in space with swords and that sort of thing. To this day, I still hate science fiction with swords. Who uses a sword in space?
Professional Experience
After university, I began writing fiction more-or-less full-time, but I also lucked into some freelance work for national trade magazines in Canada. That led to a full-time staff writer position for the launch of realscreen magazine - an international mag dedicated to the non-fiction film and television industry. Since then, I've spent lots of time writing and editing both on mastheads and freelance. If you want the official record, please see my resume.
Personal Experience
Beyond seeing the world on my own dime, my work has also allowed me the opportunity to travel extensively - attending conferences, moderating panels, event planning, etc. I'm also a dad to Kira, which makes everything else I've ever done seem dead simple...
